Are You a Healthy Hospital Award Winner?

Each year, we recognize our most sustainable hospital partners with Healthy Hospital Awards, showcasing the outstanding progress they’ve made toward reducing their impact on the environment and improving their overall financial viability. In these uncertain economic times, the Healthy Hospital Award is symbolic of the healthcare organization’s transcendence from conventional behavior, to progressive, smarter healthcare delivery.

Most hospitals that receive the Healthy Hospital Award have made significant progress in a single year, some of them increasing savings by more than one hundred percent.  All of these organizations share a common denominator – a commitment, and shared mentality of reducing wasteful behavior, cutting across all levels of the organization. The individuals in these organizations who purchase, use, and dispose of single-use medical devices understand that money saved from reprocessing can be invested in projects to improve patient care.

We applaud each of our 2011 Healthy Hospital Award Winners, who collectively diverted more than 6.8 million pounds of waste away from our nation’s landfills.
